Police, military in quest of kidnapped OIL officers

INNAO, 22 Dec: The Changlang police and the Indian Military are in quest of the 2 officers of the Quippo Oil & Fuel Infrastructure Ltd, below the Oil India Ltd (OIL), who have been kidnapped on Monday night by a bunch of armed militants from a drilling web site in Kumchai Hka in Diyun circle of Changlang district.

The officers have been recognized as PK Gogoi (51), of Sivasagar (Assam), who’s employed as drilling superintendent, and radio operator Ram Kumar (35) from Bihar.

Native sources knowledgeable that the abductors, after selecting up the OIL officers from Kumchai Hka, headed in direction of Balipather village on foot, supposedly in direction of the Manabum reserve forest.

It’s suspected that the motive behind the kidnapping is ransom, however thus far no demand has been made by the abductors.

Replying to this correspondent’s question, Changlang SP Mihin Gambo, who rushed to the positioning of kidnapping, knowledgeable {that a} case (No 32/2020 u/s 365/120 B/34 IPC r/w Part 10/13 UAP Act r/w 25 (1b) Arms Act) has been registered on the Diyun police station.

Informing that the operation is ongoing, the SP expressed hope that the culprits can be recognized and apprehended on the earliest.
